Phooey Tales

Phooey Tales
About the Book

Phooey Kerflooey is a twenty-two-pound Newfoundland puppy who is afraid of shiny floors, metal dog dishes, and green peppers. Phooey is purchased by a houseful of boys who adore paintball, wheelchair jumps, and battling attacking squirrels. Her new family thinks she is a Scottish terrier (22lbs grown up) when she is actually a big, beautiful Newfoundland who will grow to be over 100lbs! Phooey Tales: Spring is a series of chapter books (for ages 6-10) from Phooey’s point of view that occur in March, April, or May when she is between the ages of two and four months and between twenty-two to forty-seven pounds. Book #1 and book #2 parallels the action from the middle grade novel (for ages 9-12) Phooey Kerflooey. The series follows her squirrel-chasing adventures in the small town of Sleepy Valley and then transitions to Camp Castle Pine where Phooey’s family begins their forest adventures at an off-grid Bible camp. Not only has the author been owned by three different Newfoundland dogs (Shamu—163lbs, Princess Leia Freyja—114lbs, Nessie Grace Karu—133lbs) but Kristen and her all-boy family live at an off-grid Bible camp on a hidden meadow tucked into the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Find more about their real mountain meadow adventures with Nessie on facebook and Instagram or visit Kristen’s website for free eBooks and Phooey-themed coloring pages at www.KristenJoyWilks.com.
