One of the most overlooked keys to success as a Christian writer isn’t just talent or even persistence—it’s timing. Knowing what’s happening when can open doors you didn’t even know were there. Whether it’s a writing contest, a faith-based film pitch event, or a powerful online summit, these moments don’t just happen in a vacuum. They happen in seasons. And when we know the times, we can be ready to act.

I just got back from the Cascade Christian Writers Conference and absolutely loved it. I’ve been thinking a lot about all the other conferences and gatherings I could attend—not just for the learning, but for the connections, the open doors, and the divine appointments that only happen when you show up.

Right now, my short film for my book Ripple is being presented at various festivals, and we’ve even been nominated for Best Writers. It’s an exciting season, but I wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t been paying attention to what was happening in the creative world around me.

I’ve been researching all the various events coming up, trying to stay ahead—and then I came across someone who amazingly did all the work for me. I want to shamelessly promote her because I think she deserves credit for all that she did, and I truly believe this is a powerful resource for Christian authors. Her name is Patricia, and she’s an incredible author, artist, and organization nut (in the best way).

If you’re looking for a way to stay in the loop about upcoming events, my friend Patricia Tiffany Morris has put together a great resource to help writers and creatives stay informed. She curates upcoming events and opportunities so you don’t have to dig through dozens of websites to find your next open door.
